Not many oaks grow on the prairies, and this is one that does very well. Although, considered to be a slow grower for oak trees, it is a popular large ornamental tree for driveways, large yards, acreages and parks. Produces deeply lobed, dark green leaves that turn golden yellow to brown in the fall.
